BurnsPlastics is a versatile, cross-platform application designed to support doctors and healthcare professionals working within the field of plastic surgery and related disciplines.

The app functions as an introductory resource with educational material, a reference tool for practicing clinicians, and a practical resource for more experienced surgeons.

Developed through a collaboration with PLASTA (the PLAstic Surgery Training Association for British trainees) and officially endorsed by BAPRAS (the British Association for Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery), all content has been reviewed and referenced by experienced surgeons with specialized expertise in their respective areas, all holding full BAPRAS membership.

This version includes comprehensive sections on:

• Burns: First aid, history taking, physiology, Jackson’s burn model, acute management of severe burns, wound assessment, dressing selection, escharotomies, referral criteria, chemical and electrical burns, cold injuries, inhalation injuries, toxic shock syndrome, non-accidental injuries, comfort care in non-survivable burns, and surgical consenting.
• Trauma: 3D hand anatomy, trauma history and examination for the hand and lower limb, infections and bites, replantation and revascularization procedures, necrotizing fasciitis, tetanus prophylaxis guidelines, and trauma surgery consent processes.
